Exports optimistic, Vietnam’s export rice price increased by 5 USD

With favorable export conditions, Vietnam’s export rice price has increased again by 5 USD/ton, after 2 days of being adjusted down.

According to the Vietnam Food Association, after a decrease of 5 USD/ton, 2 days later, Vietnam’s export rice price has increased again with an increase of 5 USD/ton for 5% broken and 25% broken rice. 100% rice remains stable, little fluctuation.

Specifically, on March 5, 2022, after increasing the price of 5 USD/ton, the price of 5% broken rice was offered for sale in the international market at 403 USD/ton, 25% broken rice was also adjusted to increase back to the price level. 378 USD/ton. 100% broken rice remained stable at 338 USD/ton.

After an increase of 5 USD, the price of Vietnam’s 5% broken rice was 5 USD/ton higher than Thailand’s 5% broken rice; Vietnam’s 25% broken rice is 15 USD/ton lower than Thai rice; Vietnam’s 100% broken rice is 49 USD/ton lower than Thai rice. Currently, Thai rice is being sold at prices (order 5% broken, 25% broken and 100% broken) 398 USD/ton, 393 USD/ton and 387 USD/ton.

At the same time, the price of Pakistan’s 100% broken rice export also increased by 3 USD/ton, sold at 326 USD/ton, 12 USD/ton lower than Vietnam’s 100% broken rice; Pakistan’s 5% broken rice sold at 338 USD/ton, 65 USD/ton lower than Vietnam’s 5% broken rice; Pakistan’s 25% broken rice sold at 316 USD/ton, 62 USD/ton lower than Vietnam’s 25% broken rice.

Generally, in less than the first 2 months of 2022, rice exports brought in more than 314 million USD, up over 36% in volume and 19.6% in value over the same period last year.
